Editorial Policy
Every guide on Furrology is made the same way: researched carefully, written plainly, and checked before it reaches you. This page explains how that process works.
Who writes our guides
All content is written by Furrology’s own research team — pet owners and researchers who read veterinary literature and put it into practice in real homes. We do not use invented reviewers, fake expert names, or credentials nobody holds. What you read is the work of the people behind this site, and we stand behind it.
How we research
We start with reputable sources: university veterinary schools, established pet-health publishers, and respected animal-welfare organisations such as the ASPCA and RSPCA. We cross-check claims against more than one source before publishing, and we give weight to scientific consensus over viral tips. We also test advice against real owner experience — if a recommendation does not work in a normal home, it does not make the guide.
Information, not a substitute for a vet
Our guides are for information only. They never replace professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Anywhere health is discussed, we say so — and we urge you to see a qualified veterinarian for anything that affects your animal’s health or safety.
Fact-checking and corrections
Before publishing, each article is checked for accuracy, consistency, and readability. After publishing, the checking does not stop: if a reader spots a mistake, we verify it and fix it. When a correction changes the meaning of a passage, we note the change on the page. Small fixes to spelling or clarity are made silently.
How we update content
Pet care knowledge moves on, and so do our guides. We review published articles periodically and update them when guidance changes, when better research appears, or when readers raise good questions. An update does not need a new date stamp to be honest — what matters is that what you read today is current.
Our independence
Editorial decisions are made by the research team alone. Affiliate relationships and advertising never buy a recommendation or a rating — see our Affiliate Disclosure for how the site is funded. Sponsored content, if we ever publish any, will be clearly labelled as such.
