Affiliate Disclosure

Furrology is free to read, and we intend to keep it that way. This page explains, in plain terms, how the site earns money — so you can read our guides with full transparency.

How Furrology is funded

Running a website costs money: hosting, research, and the time it takes to write thorough guides. Furrology is funded in two ways: affiliate links and advertising. Neither changes what you pay — in fact, affiliate purchases usually cost you exactly the same as buying directly.

Affiliate links — what they are

Some links on Furrology are affiliate links. That means if you click one and buy the product, the retailer pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. We currently work with — or plan to work with — major retailers such as Amazon. We will always try to make affiliate links clear where they appear.

Our recommendations stay independent

A commission never decides what we recommend. Our guides are written from research and real owner experience first, and affiliate relationships come second. If a product is not good enough for our own pets, we will not recommend it — whether or not it pays a commission. Where we genuinely cannot recommend an affiliate product, we will say so.

Advertising on the site

Furrology may display advertising, including through Google AdSense. Advertising is always shown as advertising — it is labelled as such and is never disguised as editorial content. Our advertisers do not influence what we write.

What this means for you

When you buy through one of our affiliate links, you support Furrology’s running costs at no extra cost to yourself — and that support is what keeps every guide free. If you would rather not use an affiliate link, you can simply search for the product yourself instead. Thank you for reading, and for supporting honest pet writing.
